Comfort Cold as Dead: Osama bin Laden Meets His Demise

Upon hearing in the death of Osama Bin Laden plus the eloquent speech from the president to come, I could only believe on the Bush administration.

It absolutely was President Bush who claimed of Bin Laden, "I just never devote a whole lot of time on him, to tell the truth with you." It absolutely was obvious that they were telling the truth. Bush had the strongest military force and capable intelligence agencies at his command and plenty of decades to acquire it completed, but he couldn't or wouldn't. Something is for certain? He didn't.

It was the Bush administration whose members in August 2001 were comfortable with a Presidential Daily Briefing that must have experienced them on the move. The now famous P.D.B. has faded from your memory. The Bush administration can have carried out anything but they didn't. That explain why, for quite a few, that question will not be answered in any responsible or satisfactory manner. I will be still a lot angrier about this than I will ever be glad that some shriveled-up terrorist was killed in Abbott bad, Pakistan.

Osama Bin Laden is dead. You feel better? Is America any safer given that among the list of billions of folks on earth is gone? You imagine any terrorists anywhere are hanging up their spikes and leaving the track with tears in their eyes? What, you think they are all scared now? Is a mission accomplished?

The death of Osama Bin Laden means very little. It is going to be one thing that right-wing news outlets will either downplay or credit for the very last president. It can be a useful tool for your Osama 2012 campaign, especially if it doesn't mention it.

A single thing I've been thinking about is how buoyant the president seemed along at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. He or she must have recognized that American forces had O.B.L. in their sights. Which will even explain the making with the president's birth certificate a few days earlier? The warm-up until the pitch.

If the death of Osama Bin Laden brings any peace to the who misplaced loved ones on that awful day in September 2001 that is the excellent thing. Its additional likely, however, merely a painful reminder of the concepts misplaced.
